Job Description:
As a General Accountant (Pooling) at DBOS, you will be responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of multiple clients. You will work closely with our clients to ensure accuracy and efficiency in their financial processes. Your role will involve preparing financial statements, analyzing data, and providing financial advice to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment runs, and collections.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including GST/BAS reporting, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations. Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Proven experience as a General Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of Australian accounting practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
