About Bluejay
Bluejay is building the simulation, observability, and self-improvement layer for Voice AI agents, with a mission to be the trust layer between AI and humanity. Founders Faraz and Rohan left Microsoft and AWS, where they built critical infrastructure for MSFT Copilot and AWS Bedrock. Voice is the hardest modality for AI, and Bluejay builds the evaluation infrastructure to make voice agents reliable enough to succeed with real customers.
In just one year, Google, DoorDash, public healthcare companies, public banks, most drive-through fast-food chains, and corporations across five continents have used Bluejay to understand and improve their Voice AI agents. The company handles millions of calls a month, creating hard real-time product and engineering problems.

The Role
As a Member of Technical Staff, you'll architect and develop systems that simulate, analyze, and evaluate conversational AI agents across voice and multimodal systems, and design resilient, scalable AWS infrastructure to handle millions of real-time conversations. This is a high-bar, full-ownership, customer-facing role on a 10-person team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Architecting and developing simulation, analysis, and evaluation systems for conversational AI (voice and multimodal)
- Building resilient, scalable AWS infrastructure (Lambda, EC2, WebSockets, SIP) for millions of real-time conversations
- Building algorithms and pipelines that surface insights, detect failure modes, and keep agents safe and aligned
- Owning your work end to end, across the full stack
- Working on-site with customers to build, sell, and deploy the product
Tech stack: Python, FastAPI, Supabase, Redis, heavy AWS, WebSockets, CI/CD; Machine Learning, LLMs; Voice AI (LiveKit, Deepgram, Cartesia, ElevenLabs, Gemini, and similar); optimized DevX (skills, MCP integrations, worktrees, heavy task parallelization); observability (Sentry, PostHog, Grafana, Datadog)
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience (JD body references 2+; confirm)
- High technical bar with proficiency across the stack, specifically databases, AWS, and AI engineering
- Ability to obsess over details and lead technical execution, ideally with experience building high-traffic features at scale
- An exceptional signal: a strong bachelor's degree and/or prior experience at a top fast-growing startup
- Strong communicator and personable (customer-facing role)
- Able to work in person in SF, 5 days a week, 9-7

- Has handled immense scale as an IC or senior SWE
- Technical lead experience owning projects end to end

- Strong, personable communicator comfortable in front of customers
Red Flags
- Cannot work fully on-site in SF at a 9-7, 5-day cadence
- Needs visa sponsorship or a transfer (not available)
- Weak communicator or not comfortable being customer-facing
- No evidence of a high technical bar or of building anything at meaningful scale
