About Sunset
Sunset was founded to help founders. It started by supporting startups through shutdowns and has since expanded into a new revenue stream for all types of businesses. The insight underneath it: the data companies generate day to day (collaboration, communication, building) is some of the most valuable training data in the world — and the next generation of model progress depends on real, proprietary data grounded in how actual businesses operate. Sunset is a primary source of it, partnering directly with the frontier AI labs building what comes next.
Sunset scaled from $0 to a multi-million run rate in a matter of months (multiple million in revenue in a single recent month) and recently raised again. It is backed by Floodgate, Afore, Ludlow, and Hustle Fund. The team is more than doubling right now (roughly 14–15 additional engineers planned), and Sunset works with essentially all of the frontier labs, frontier data labelers, and RL environment teams.

The Role
As Business Development Representative (Wind-Down), you are the first point of contact for founders navigating one of the hardest moments in their company's life. You build a qualified pipeline for the Wind-Down Account Executives — you do not join prospect calls yourself; your job is to book qualified meetings for the AEs to run.
What You'll Be Doing
- Consistently hit or exceed monthly targets for qualified meetings booked
- Generate a high volume of outbound opportunities through personalized outreach
- Partner closely with Account Executives on sourcing, strategy, and deal handoff
- Continuously find ways to improve and iterate on outreach and process
- Hold an extremely high-quality standard in every founder interaction
Motion: High-volume, high-quality outbound. Empathetic (not hard-sell). Small wind-down pod alongside two AEs, reporting directly to the Founder.
Requirements
- 12+ mos SDR, or quota-owning consulting / closing / ops role
- Empathetic, founder-facing, not a hard-sell rep
- Relentless through hundreds of no's
- High volume + high quality bar
- Dumbo, 5 days in-person
Green Flags
- 12+ months as an SDR with clear quota ownership, or a consulting / closing / operations background where they carried a number
- Empathetic and credible in founder-facing conversations, able to handle a sensitive shutdown moment without a hard-sell posture
- Relentless work ethic: keeps volume and quality high through hundreds of no's
- Demonstrated instinct to test, measure, and iterate on their own outreach
- High-slope early-career operator excited by an in-person, high-intensity, ground-floor seat
Red Flags
- Seeks a work-life-balance environment; the culture is high-intensity and expects candidates who want to work hard and get after it
- Stereotypical hard-sell rep who cannot read a sensitive room or lacks credibility with founders
- Slows down or drops quality after a run of rejections
- Purely volume-driven with no evidence of iterating or improving process
- No quota ownership or client-facing performance signal to point to
