About Klarity

Klarity builds AI for AI transformation, tackling the problem that 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail. It deploys AI companion agents that passively observe how teams work (with full human consent), build a context graph of how the entire company operates, and use that graph to drive measurable improvement. ServiceNow mapped 900+ processes in 9 days with Klarity; DoorDash captured 3,800+ finance operations in 14 weeks. Customers include Google, OpenAI, Stripe, DoorDash, JLL, Moody's, Monzo Bank, and McKesson.

Founded: 2017 | Team size: see flag (body says 9; company field says 51-200) | Total funding: $91M (post-Series B) Industry: AI Tools Website: klarity.ai Office: San Francisco, CA (downtown, 23rd floor)

Why Candidates Should Join

  • One of the hardest frontend surfaces in enterprise AI: real-time WebRTC companion agents, generative dashboards over enterprise context graphs, and agentic chat that operates the web app itself.
  • Tiny, elite team with marquee logos: Google, OpenAI, Stripe, and DoorDash as customers; 8-figure revenue; 7x'd in the last fiscal year and still accelerating.
  • Ship at AI speeds and define the frontend SDLC: work directly with the founding team and help set how the company scales code review and SDLC with agents.
  • Strong comp + full benefits: $250K–$315K base, competitive equity, 100% employer-paid medical/dental/vision, relocation support to SF.

The Role

A Staff AI Frontend Engineer sitting at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering — an engineer first, with design sensibility that elevates everything built. Defines and implements the look and feel of AI-native enterprise workflows, making complex tools feel as intuitive as the best consumer apps.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Architect scalable frontend systems: reusable component libraries, state-management and API-integration patterns, bundle optimization, performance at scale
  • Own and ship the primary user-facing features end-to-end, from React components through API integration to production polish
  • Bridge AI capabilities with elegant UX; partner with product and backend to expose power while hiding complexity
  • Build complex frontend systems including real-time WebRTC streaming for the companion agent, generative dashboards, and agentic chat that operates the product itself
  • Use AI tools to rapidly prototype design concepts in code — working demos instead of static mocks
  • Help define how the team scales code review and SDLC with agents that encode architectural thinking

Tech stack: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind; WebRTC; Python backend (occasional cross-stack)

Requirements

  • 6+ years frontend, Senior to Staff level
  • React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind mastery
  • Ships multiple features per day with AI tooling
  • High agency, ex-founder or comparable
  • Engineer first, designer by instinct
  • SF in-person, 5 days a week
  • Clear ownership signal — not pure big-co tenure (e.g. Google LinkedIn Netflix) without it

Green Flags

  • Prior founder, founding engineer, or major scope ownership at a real startup.
  • Articulates what changed in their stack in the last three months. Mentions Open Claw, Hermes, Claude Dispatch, or comparable unprompted.
  • Has shipped real-time complex frontend systems, WebRTC streaming, generative UI, or comparable.
  • Engineer first with real design taste.

Red Flags

  • Wants to be mentored or nurtured.
  • Says "Cursor has gotten better" when asked what changed in their stack recently.
  • Long commute from South Bay or extended relocation timeline.
