About Strala

Strala is an AI-native insurance platform automating the full claims process — intake, fraud detection, and settlement — to help the world's largest insurers handle claims faster, more accurately, and at lower cost, improving loss ratios across the claims lifecycle. In under a year the team has reached multi-seven-figure ARR with ~50% month-over-month growth and zero dedicated growth headcount.

Founded: 2025 | Team size: 11–50 | Funding: Series A (two rounds from Tier 1 funds led by early partners in OpenAI, Cognition, and Ramp) Industry: FinTech / Insurtech / Applied AI Website: strala.ai Office: San Francisco, CA (in-person)

Team pedigree: engineers from DRW, Optiver, AWS, and Palantir; AI researchers from Oxford and Cambridge labs publishing at ICML, ICCV, and NeurIPS; multiple ICPC and Olympiad winners.

Why Candidates Should Join

  • Hardest job in AI-native services: Own the intersection of technical architecture and executive alignment inside the world's largest carriers.
  • Real ownership from zero: Help write the playbook, standards, and operating rhythm that define how Strala scales deployments.
  • Trajectory + backing: Multi-seven-figure ARR, ~50% MoM growth, Tier 1 funds, in-person SF with relocation support and all meals covered.

Intake Call Summary

The Role

Strala is hiring a Deployment Strategist to enable mission-critical AI to work for the world's largest insurers — living inside carrier environments and owning the intersection of technical architecture and executive alignment. The interview process has no technical rounds, but the hire must be genuinely technical, highly structured, and credible with senior client stakeholders. Framed as the "reverse of an FDE": non-technical client and deployment ownership, paired tightly with engineering on every implementation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own multiple client deployments from post-sale design through go-live and stabilization, as the single point of contact for VP-level stakeholders
  • Work with client teams on architecture, data models, workflow design, and source-of-record decisions
  • Turn messy client reality into clear plans (milestones, owners, risks, dependencies, cadence) and communicate progress/blockers to client executives and internal engineering with equal precision
  • Build trust with senior stakeholders while going deep with operators and technical teams
  • Coordinate daily with engineering and sales — translating client needs into engineering priorities and deployment context into deal strategy
  • Partner with Sales on late-stage deals to shape scope and create expansion paths
  • Help write the playbook, standards, and operating rhythm for scaling deployments

Tech stack: Not applicable — non-coding role (must hold technical conversations with client and internal engineering teams).

Requirements

  • 2–5 years technical + client-facing ownership
  • Exceptional executive client presence
  • Structured thinker, owns end-to-end execution
  • Technical literacy (CS background or SWE internship)
  • High agency, founder-mode operator
  • SF in-person

Green Flags

  • Strong client presence with senior executives. Can walk into a war room of seven-figure insurance executives and earn their trust without sounding scripted.
  • Top-tier consulting background (MBB or equivalent) with a CS or technical degree.
  • Deployment / solutions / implementation experience at Palantir, Scale, Databricks, or a similar high-performance environment.
  • Early GTM hire at a high-growth AI startup with a CS background.
  • Charismatic communicator who is also genuinely technical. Can pivot mid-conversation between executive narrative and a data model question without losing either room.

Red Flags

  • Comes off scripted or canned in conversation. The role requires real charisma
  • Pure consultant with no technical foundation. Unable to speak CS jargon or hold a conversation with engineering team
  • Pure technical operator with weak client presence. The role is half client management — pure backend or implementation engineers without comms strength will not survive the role.
  • Career deployment / solutions person from a polished, mature function. Strala is building the function from zero — candidates looking for a structured environment will struggle.
  • Cannot or will not relocate to SF. Non-negotiable, even with full relocation support.
