About the Company
Our client is a seed-stage startup building AI-powered software for global trade and customs, helping importers navigate tariffs, uncover duty refunds, and cut costs across their operations. They have a live product with a growing base of customers and a Series A on the horizon. You would join a small, high-impact engineering team where every engineer shapes the product directly.
Founded 2024 · Small team · Industry: AI, Logistics, Fintech, B2B
The Role
A product-minded engineer who owns features end-to-end in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, working directly with the founders to turn messy, fragmented trade data into clean, actionable insight.
What you'll be doing
- Building full-stack features across the platform, connecting product to real customer use cases with client data.
- Wrangling messy, fragmented trade data (documents, CSVs, API integrations) into clean, structured, usable information.
- Designing and modeling databases in PostgreSQL to handle the complexity of global trade.
- Shaping product direction with the founders: understanding user problems, pushing back on specs, and owning the full lifecycle from ambiguous requirement to shipped product.
- Building agentic AI workflows in a compliance-heavy domain where accuracy has real consequences.
Tech stack: TypeScript (Node backend + React frontend), PostgreSQL
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in full-stack product engineering.
- Time at a Series B or later company with a strong engineering culture.
- Strong full-stack TypeScript ability across a Node backend and a React frontend.
- A track record shipping end-to-end features in a data-heavy or compliance-adjacent product (for example fintech, logistics, or B2B SaaS).
- Solid PostgreSQL and data-modeling fundamentals.
- Genuine intellectual curiosity, with a habit of going deep on technical or domain problems on your own.
- Based in San Francisco or open to relocating, and able to be in-office 3 days a week.
- Work authorization note: no new H-1B sponsorship at this time; H-1B transfers, OPT, TN, J1, and O1 can be considered.
Nice to Haves
- Hands-on experience with data wrangling, tricky integrations, or document pipelines.
- A degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- A strong point of view on frontend UX and building genuinely usable interfaces.
Why Join
- Join at near-founding-team scale, where your work shapes the product, roadmap, and culture directly.
- Own features end-to-end, from ambiguous problem to shipped product, alongside the founders.
- Work on hard, real-world data problems in a category that is expanding quickly.
- Meaningful early-stage equity with room to grow as the company scales.
