Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to support a banking environment, with a strong focus on Linux/Unix system administration, vulnerability management, patching, and information security.

The role involves ensuring the security, stability, and compliance of Linux/Unix infrastructure by continuously managing system patches, addressing vulnerabilities, and reviewing hardening configurations in line with internal security policies and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing patch management across Linux/Unix systems, ensuring timely updates and security fixes.
• Identify, assess, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities in Linux/Unix environments.
• Review and validate system hardening configurations against security standards and internal policies.
• Conduct regular security configuration checks and identify potential misconfigurations or compliance gaps.
• Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with information security requirements.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to address security findings and mitigate risks.
• Support security audits and vulnerability assessments within the banking environment.
• Ensure infrastructure security practices align with the organization's policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to patching, vulnerabilities, and system security.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Linux/Unix system administration, preferably in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Solid knowledge of information security principles and system hardening practices.
• Experience reviewing security configurations and implementing hardening recommendations.
• Understanding of security baselines, vulnerability assessment, and risk mitigation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with infrastructure and information security teams.
• Good English communication skills.
