COBOL Developer (with French)

Contract type: B2B, Remote

We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to join our partner team. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in COBOL and related mainframe technologies and is able to communicate effectively in French within an international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications written in COBOL

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Perform debugging, testing, and performance optimization of existing programs
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives

• Collaborate with functional analysts, testers, and other developers

• Write and maintain technical documentation

• Provide production support and resolve incidents in a timely manner
• Communicate with French-speaking stakeholders and team members

Technical Requirements:

• Strong experience with COBOL development

• Experience in Mainframe environments (z/OS)

• Knowledge of JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS (depending on the project)

• Experience with batch and online processing

• Familiarity with version control and change management tools

• Understanding of legacy system architecture and integration concepts

Language Requirements:

• French & English: Mandatory
