Role Overview
We are looking for a DevOps Specialist with expertise in Docker, OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines to join our team. The role involves implementing and optimizing containerized infrastructure, automation, and deployment processes while ensuring system availability, security, and performance.
This is a 100% remote position, starting in March, 2025, with an initial 6-month contract and potential extension.
Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Automation
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Optimize and streamline the container platform (OpenShift).

Container & Configuration Management
- Manage and enhance Docker-based containerization solutions.
- Use Hashi Vault for secure secrets management and configurations.
- Implement and maintain Istio Service Mesh for enhanced microservices communication.

System Performance & Security
- Monitor availability, performance, and security of applications and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot issues, ensuring minimal downtime and system resilience.
- Use monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Graylog.

Collaboration & Optimization
- Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and workflow improvements.
- Optimize deployment automation using Helm Charts.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience in containerization technologies (Docker, OpenShift).
Proficiency with Hashi Vault for secrets management.
Hands-on experience with Istio Service Mesh for microservices integration.
Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab.
Familiarity with container registries (Harbor, etc.).
Basic understanding of Helm Charts for deployment automation.
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Graylog).
Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle.
Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
Work Conditions
- Location: 100% Remote (Consulting & Implementation role based in Münster, Westphalia).
- Start Date: March, 2025.
- Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential extension.
- Workload: Full-time.
