AS400 COBOL Developer (Italian-Speaking) | Open-Ended Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AS400 COBOL Developer to develop, optimize, and maintain business-critical applications on the IBM AS/400 (iSeries) platform. The ideal candidate will have strong COBOL and CLP programming skills, experience with DB2 for AS400, and fluency in Italian and English. This role involves analyzing business requirements, developing solutions, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring system reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development & Implementation:
  • Develop, test, and deploy applications using COBOL and CLP on the AS/400 platform.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Application Maintenance & Optimization:
  • Maintain and enhance existing AS/400 applications to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth system operation.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely software delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to propose and implement innovative solutions.
• Technical Documentation & Support:
  • Document development processes, application changes, and technical solutions.
  • Provide user support and training when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AS400 development using COBOL and CLP.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience working with DB2 for AS400.
• Experience with MQ framework and AS-400 scheduler.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively in both local and remote teams.
• Fluency in Italian and English (spoken & written) Mandatory.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with CQS and Leasing products.
