Role Overview

We are looking for a Mid-level AS400 / COBOL Developer with French at B1/B2 level to join an insurance domain project. The role focuses on code upgrades and application maintenance, contributing to the modernization and stability of core insurance systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience as an AS400 / COBOL Developer

• Hands-on experience with AS400 (IBM i) environments

• Strong knowledge of COBOL development

• Experience working on legacy system maintenance and code upgrades

• Ability to understand and implement functional requirements in insurance systems

• Experience working in structured enterprise environments

Responsibilities

• Perform code upgrades and enhancements on AS400 / COBOL applications

• Maintain and improve existing insurance systems

• Analyze technical and functional requirements

• Fix defects and support application stability

• Collaborate with functional teams and other developers

• Participate in testing and validation of upgraded code

• Contribute to documentation and knowledge transfer

Language Requirements

• French – B1/B2 level (mandatory)

• English – professional working proficiency

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Previous experience in the insurance domain

• Experience with batch processing on AS400

• Exposure to modernization or migration initiatives
