OT Cybersecurity Assessment Manager

We are seeking an experienced OT Cybersecurity Assessment Consultant / Manager to support security reviews across complex industrial and operational environments.

The role will focus on assessing the cybersecurity posture of Operational Technology environments, identifying control gaps and operational risks, and helping organizations improve resilience across industrial systems and critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will participate in and lead OT cybersecurity assessments covering industrial facilities, control systems, networks, and supporting processes.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Performing OT cybersecurity maturity assessments
  • Conducting security gap analyses and risk assessments
  • Reviewing technical and organizational security controls
  • Assessing industrial environments against recognized cybersecurity frameworks
  • Supporting site surveys, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and technical reviews
  • Identifying vulnerabilities, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities
  • Developing remediation recommendations and security roadmaps
  • Preparing clear assessment reports and management-level findings
  • Presenting conclusions and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders

The role involves close collaboration with plant operations, engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, risk, and management teams.

Technical Background

Candidates should have practical knowledge of industrial control environments and technologies such as:

  • SCADA systems
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Industrial networks and communication architectures
  • OT/IT network segmentation
  • Industrial cybersecurity controls
  • Asset and vulnerability management within OT environments
  • Secure remote access and operational monitoring

Experience working directly within production, manufacturing, utilities, energy, infrastructure, or other industrial environments is highly desirable.

Security Frameworks

Strong familiarity with one or more recognized OT and cybersecurity standards is expected, including:

  • IEC 62443
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • NIST guidance for Industrial Control Systems
  • ISO/IEC 27001
  • Comparable industrial cybersecurity standards or regulatory frameworks

Experience & Qualifications

Candidates should bring several years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, OT security, industrial control systems, or related technology environments.

Previous experience conducting formal OT assessments, industrial security reviews, or cybersecurity transformation initiatives will be particularly valuable.

Relevant professional certifications are advantageous, including qualifications in areas such as:

  • Industrial cybersecurity
  • ICS/OT security
  • Information security
  • IEC 62443
  • ISA standards
  • Security architecture or risk management

Working Model

This position requires a strong onsite component, as assessments may involve direct access to operational facilities, technical infrastructure, engineering teams, and plant environments.

Candidates should therefore be comfortable with regular travel and spending extended periods at operational locations when required.

Engagement

This is a senior consulting opportunity supporting an ongoing cybersecurity program.

Commercial terms are negotiable and will depend on experience, technical expertise, and level of responsibility.
