Functional SAP HCM Project Manager

The Functional Project Manager (FPM) will support the SAP Program Manager by leading the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple HR functional workstreams. The role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day project management activities across key HR domains, ensuring alignment between workstreams, timely achievement of milestones, proactive risk management, and effective tracking of interdependencies across the overall program.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage the operational planning layer of the program by:

  • Developing and maintaining integrated project plans.
  • Tracking deliverables across all functional workstreams.
  • Monitoring milestone achievement and identifying deviations early.
  • Coordinating re-planning activities when required.
  • Managing dependencies across workstreams to support seamless execution.

Establish and maintain robust execution governance by:

  • Managing RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Dependencies).
  • Identifying risks proactively and ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
  • Escalating critical issues to the Program Manager as necessary.
  • Facilitating cross-workstream resolution sessions.
  • Tracking mitigation actions and ensuring accountability for their completion.

Provide operational support to the Program Manager to maintain program momentum by:

  • Preparing project status updates and operational reports for leadership.
  • Driving follow-up actions and ensuring timely completion of key deliverables.
  • Supporting the preparation of steering committee meetings and governance forums.
  • Identifying execution risks and potential roadblocks early.
  • Translating strategic decisions into clear, actionable plans and monitoring their implementation.
Required Experience:
  • 8–12+ years of experience in project or program management.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale HR transformation programs.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-workstream enterprise initiatives.
  • Strong functional expertise across HR domains.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with:
  • SAP SuccessFactors and SAP HCM (mandatory).
  • Global HR transformation programs.
  • HRIT ecosystems, system integrations, and reporting solutions.
  Required Skills:

SAP
