About the job Project Engineer

General Description:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. This position also works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Completing due diligence and site investigation

2. Site and infrastructure design including street plans (plan & profile, cross-sections, etc.), grading and erosion control plans, stormwater management facilities, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution systems, and storm sewer systems

3. Quantity take-offs and cost estimates

4. Preparation of specifications

5. Preparation of permit applications

6. Construction administration and observation

7. Assist in the development of plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

2. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other civil engineering design tools

3. Ability to work well independently or on a team

4. Knowledge of construction activities

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required

2. Previous intern or co-op experience in the civil industry is preferred

3. 1-2 years of civil engineering experience is preferred

License or Certification Requirements:

1. Professional Engineer License (PE) for the State of Wisconsin is preferred

Physical Requirements:

1. This position requires sitting at a desk and working at a computer for a long period of time

2. Some work may include fieldwork

3. This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

PPE Requirements:

1. Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary
