We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Federal to lead our market strategy in the US Government sector. This pivotal role involves full oversight of our federal strategy, from development through execution. It entails crafting a compelling market position, mastering the customer acquisition journey, and fostering sustained customer satisfaction and growth. This role is central to building and managing a top-tier team focused on these goals, reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with our Product, Engineering, and Consumer teams to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a robust Federal strategy that supports our overarching vision and objectives.
  • Team Development: Lead a lean, dynamic team, fostering growth through coaching, mentoring, and effective performance management.
  • Growth and Expansion: Drive strategic initiatives to secure new starts, renewals, and year-over-year revenue growth in Federal accounts.
  • Market Expertise: Gain deep insights into the Federal market to guide iterative product development and ensure our offerings meet customer needs.
  • Financial Oversight: Achieve growth targets, maintain accurate forecasts, and assess the ROI of growth initiatives.
  • Customer Engagement: Understand and connect with Federal agency buyers, leveraging relationships to expand our footprint and influence product and company strategy.
  • Operational Excellence: Enhance pipeline management effectiveness through rigorous process oversight, methodology refinement, metrics analysis, and tool optimization.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Business, Security, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Proven Experience: At least 10 years in roles interfacing with government, including 5 years in leadership positions. Government experience can account for half of this requirement.
  • Sales Expertise: A track record of achieving and exceeding sales forecasts and driving significant business growth.
  • Customer Interaction: Hands-on experience in customer engagement, adept at closing deals and leveraging relationships for broader business impact.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex technical and security concepts effectively.
  • Strategic Acumen: Strong focus on strategic and customer-centric planning with a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by government clients.
  • Negotiation Skills: Expertise in negotiating and closing complex deals is essential.

Nice to Have:

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Telco/MVNO environments.
  • Infrastructure Development: Experience in developing sales infrastructure, training, and operations within a high-growth environment.
  • Early Stage Experience: Proven ability in enterprise sales for early-stage companies.
