Job Openings SRE - Site Reliability Engineer - Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

About the job SRE - Site Reliability Engineer - Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Location: On-site in Reston, Herndon, Chantilly, McLean, or Langley, VA
Compensation: $160 to $200/hr Corp-to-Corp (C2C)

Overview

This role places an experienced infrastructure engineer on mission-critical systems supporting some of the most sensitive technical environments in the U.S. government. It is a hands-on position spanning Kubernetes, Linux, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and automation, in a setting where reliability and performance failures carry real operational consequences.

The role is not scoped as a narrow SRE function. The position carries ownership of critical systems from architecture through day-to-day operation, with the expectation that the engineer works across the full stack rather than within a single infrastructure specialty. Automation, tooling, and scalable design are core parts of the work, not adjacent tasks.

Candidates who bring depth across several infrastructure domains and want to apply that depth in environments very few engineers ever access will find the role a strong fit.

What You'll Do

  • Design and operate highly reliable, scalable infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads
  • Own complex systems end-to-end, from architecture decisions through production operation
  • Build tooling and automation across infrastructure and production environments
  • Work hands-on across Kubernetes, Linux, cloud platforms, networking, and security
  • Solve difficult reliability and performance problems without being confined to a narrow infrastructure lane
  • Maintain a security-first posture in an environment where security and reliability are tightly coupled

What We're Looking For

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (required; no exceptions)
  • Ability to work Corp-to-Corp (required)
  • 5+ years of SRE, systems engineering, infrastructure, or closely related experience
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes and Linux
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
  • Strong Python, scripting, and infrastructure automation skills
  • Strong networking and security fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own complex technical systems

Preferred

  • Experience operating infrastructure in classified or otherwise high-security environments
  • Breadth across multiple cloud providers rather than a single platform
