Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Relief Systems Project Manager:

#1. Must have experience in the oil & gas, heavy industrial, mining, and manufacturing sectors.

#2. Must have experience with Curtiss Wright iPRSM, Smith & Burgess Salus, ioMosaic SuperChems and/or Siemens PSPPM preferred.

#3. Must have exp conducting flare and relief header hydraulic modeling (Aspen Flare System Analyzer, VMG Flare).

#4. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years

Responsibilities of the Relief Systems Project Manager:

  • Project and Client Management
    • Complete overpressure protection sizing and analyzing tasks
    • Facilitating project execution
    • Manage relief study review and mitigation projects
    • Work with clients and submit routine updates
    • Conduct QA/QC efforts on deliverables
    • Participate in site visits for data gathering
    • Facilitate regular meetings with client
    • Plan, forecast, and negotiate for resources
    • Develop and review project schedules
    • Participate in proposal development
    • Manage status reporting for internal stakeholders and clients
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Conduct relief device sizing calculations
    • Conduct flare and relief header hydraulic modeling (Aspen Flare System Analyzer, VMG Flare)
    • Generate process simulation for emergency relieving conditions (HYSYS, Promax, VMG, UniSim)
    • Update Process Flow Diagram (PFD) for protected systems
    • Update Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) for protected systems
    • Conduct peer checks and reviews
    • Interface with mechanical design and structural for relief device mitigations
    • Produce and review construction documents
    • Develop scope of work packages for construction efforts o Provide engineering support of construction efforts
    • Organize project information, action items, and task lists
    • Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements of the Relief Systems Project Manager:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • 5 years experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Working knowledge with relevant industry codes and standards such as API 520/521
  • Experience with Curtiss Wright iPRSM, Smith & Burgess Salus, ioMosaic SuperChems and/or Siemens PSPPM preferred.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling software and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate communication (written and verbal) skills, to deliver more complex information effectively.
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills to be able to manage complex tasks and work through to solution with little guidance and direction.
  • Advanced leadership skills with experience leading large or technical teams through complex deliverables.
  • Proficient user of technology and software required to execute daily tasks.
  • Advanced mathematical, organizational, and time-management skills.
