Responsibilities:
- To prepare all cold hors’ d’oeuvres.
- To prepare the cold soups.
- To supervise cleanliness of his section i.e., fridges, benches, and machinery.
- To prepare the mise-end-place of his section and to carefully study the daily menu to avoid any mistakes
- To supervise, coach and counsel his subordinates.
- To be responsible for the decoration of the buffet and to place all showpieces in a way that the buffet will look attractive and to use his imagination to ensure an attractive layout of the buffet plus the cleaning of the buffet. To bear in mind that the refined food presentation is a special characteristic of a Cook A / Garde Manager.
- To follow closely all rules on personal appearances and hygiene by presenting himself for work: with clean and short hair, shaved, clean and short nails, clean uniform, without jewelry, light make-up and no nail varnish for female staff and long hair to be tied back form the face.
- To be consistent with working hours and to follow all hotel rules and regulations.
- To help on the other sections of the kitchen incase his section is not busy, following his own judgment.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Greek and English.
- Previous experience in 4- or 5-star hotels or high-class restaurants in relevant position.
- Passion about food.
- Self-discipline and strong work ethic with real pride in work.
- Proven track record of working in high volume kitchens.
- Team spirit and pleasant personality.
- Energy and enthusiasm with great communication skills.
- Natural flair for first class service and hospitality.
