Drawing from our extensive experience across various environmental projects and initiatives, we work to raise awareness, educate the public, and promote behaviors that protect nature via advocacy and implementation of projects. We collaborate with a range of external organizations on ecological partnerships and engage the public on these projects.

Funded primarily by donations from the public, corporations and foundations, our organization is expanding its activities and increasing its fundraising efforts. We are seeking a Head of Marketing and Fundraising with extensive experience in advertising, and marketing communications in the corporate world, and ideally as well with fund-raising in the NGO sector.

Job Description

The Head of Marketing and Fundraising is a key advocate for our organization. This senior management role is responsible for raising awareness, building relationships, and inspiring trust to facilitate fundraising opportunities. Fundraising and marketing are two sides of the same coin and the ideal candidate is an expert in fundraising and marketing communications, with a robust background in branding, customer relationship building, project management, and a deep passion for nature conservation. The Head of Marketing and Fundraising will lead a team and will be member of the Management Team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and direct the organization's strategy for communication and branding related to conservation, emphasizing fundraising and community outreach.
  • Supervise marketing communications, covering public relations, advertising, website management, electronic communications, and social media platforms.
  • Further enhance electronic DM campaigns
  • Strengthen the brand and ensure consistency and compliance with brand image across all communication channels.
  • Create and implement strategies to manage and develop department staff, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives aimed at high net-worth individuals and foundations.
  • Locate and apply for government and community grants or subsidies to support ongoing and new projects and programs.
  • Secure sponsorships and donations from the business sector for projects by promoting and selling volunteer opportunities, habitat restoration activities, corporate programs, and key events.
  • Plan, execute, and manage a donation programmes and corporate sponsorships.
  • Organize and implement fundraising events to boost brand awareness and generate unrestricted funds.
  • Design and oversee major, long-term thematic fundraising campaigns.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in TCFD and TNFD frameworks, strategize and implement nature-based solutions (NbS), and monetize these initiatives.
  • Work with other departments to identify, recommend, and assist in increasing alternative revenue streams and enhancing visitor experience.
  • Serve as an integral member of the Management Team.
  • Supervise departmental staff and manage a medium-sized team.
  • Provide effective leadership and people management, including performance evaluation, mentoring, and professional development, to ensure a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Incorporate creativity, culture, and art into the organizations programs, building on existing initiatives and introducing new ideas.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related fields.
  • Up to 10 years of experience in marketing or fundraising. Experience in both corporate as in a non-governmental organization is preferred.
  • Excellent language and communication skills in English and Cantonese.
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills, with a proven history of effective people management and team leadership.
  • Strong fundraising abilities, including identifying and cultivating potential donors and managing fundraising programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills in the areas of communication, marketing, and fundraising.
