Head Waiter - Fine-Casual Dining Restaurant (Saudi Arabia)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and professional Head Waiter to join our fine-casual dining restaurant in Saudi Arabia. The Head Waiter will play a key role in supporting the Restaurant Manager by ensuring high-quality service and managing the front-of-house (FOH) team during service hours. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of restaurant operations, exhibit excellent leadership skills, and be committed to delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Service Management:

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant's FOH during service hours to ensure excellence in guest service.
  • Actively manage the dining area, ensuring that guests receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Uphold the restaurants standards of service and ensure that health, safety, and hygiene practices comply with Saudi law.

2. Team Leadership and Support:

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in the recruitment, training, and supervision of FOH staff.
  • Assist with shift scheduling to maximize efficiency while minimizing labor costs.
  • Encourage and motivate the FOH team, providing regular feedback to promote a culture of high performance.

3. Guest Service Excellence:

  • Provide a personalized dining experience, taking initiative to meet guests needs and handling any service issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Build rapport with regular and VIP guests to create a loyal customer base.
  • Participate in staff service training to sustain a high level of service quality.

4. Operational Support:

  • Contribute to the management of financial responsibilities, including participating in budget discussions and suggesting cost-control measures.
  • Assist in inventory checks, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained without unnecessary waste.
  • Aid in establishing strong vendor relations, securing quality supplies while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

5. Event Assistance:

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with the organization and execution of special events and promotional activities.
  • Engage with the local community for event participation to increase brand awareness.

6. Safety and Security:

  • Support a secure environment for both staff and guests, and assist with handling emergencies in line with established safety procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Waiter, Senior Waiter, or similar role in upscale dining establishments.
  • Familiarity with fine-dining or fine-casual restaurant operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for service excellence and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software.
  • Good command of English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
