About the job Lead Cell Biologist

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in creation and maintenance of mammalian & non-mammalian animal cell cultures

  • Execution of cellular and molecular biology work including sample preparation, analysis, quantification, purification & sequencing

  • Preparation and maintenance of laboratory reagents, chemicals and instruments

  • Meticulously following experimental & routine protocols, inquiring with leadership when steps are not clear

  • Maintaining strong laboratory organization and detailed electronic records & effectively using laboratory tools

  • Organization, analysis and drawing conclusions from data & results and sharing findings with team & leadership in presentable format

  • Working closely with other researchers to adapt to project & research needs

  • Design, development, review and authorship of laboratory protocols, experimental procedures and related laboratory documentation

  • Developing suggestions to improve day-to-day laboratory workflows

  • Routinely investigating literature, reading journals and presenting relevant findings to support or initiate research initiatives

  • Collaborating with team members to prioritize research activities and effectively utilizing resources to keep up with testing demands

  • Consistently communicating with cross-functional colleagues to address broader research goals

  • Assisting in selection, setup & startup of new instrumentation and laboratory equipment


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities & qualifications:

  • BS in biology, molecular biology, cell biology or related field + 4 or more years of related research experience OR BS+MS in life sciences + 2 years related research experience

  • Demonstrated competence and hands-on experience in molecular biology research techniques and methodologies

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, work in a dynamic and diverse project environment, and adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to perform multiple technical tasks independently

  • Organizational skills and ability to maintain a detailed electronic laboratory notebook

  • Ability to deliver consistent results with technical rigor by working independently and as a team member

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong ability analyze data and interpret acceptability of results

  • High degree of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
