About the Role
Mechanics Recruitment, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking an experienced Senior Workshop Manager to lead a state-of-the-art tanker repair facility in Western Australia. This is a rare opportunity to manage one of WAs most advanced heavy vehicle workshops, specialising in bulk liquid tanker maintenance and repair.
This high-level leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong expertise in mechanical servicing, fabrication, workshop operations, and compliance standards. Youll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the workshop, driving efficiency, ensuring industry-leading safety and compliance, and leading a highly skilled team.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of tanker repairs, servicing, and maintenance
- Lead and mentor supervisors, technicians, and fabricators to ensure peak performance
- Manage workshop scheduling, production planning, and labour allocation
- Oversee budgeting, job costing, and financial performance
- Ensure strict compliance with industry standards, including AS2809, OH&S, and heavy vehicle modification regulations
- Drive a safety-first culture and enforce OH&S best practices
- Implement process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring service excellence and strong stakeholder relationships
What Youll Need to Succeed
- 5+ years experience in a senior mechanical or fabrication workshop management role
- Proven leadership skills Ability to manage large teams and complex projects
- Expertise in heavy vehicle repairs, mechanical servicing, and fabrication (bulk liquid tanker knowledge highly desirable)
- Strong financial acumen Budgeting, job costing, and cost control experience
- Hands-on experience with scheduling, production planning, and workforce management
- Technical knowledge of AS2809, OH&S, and heavy vehicle modification standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/job tracking software
- A strong safety mindset and a thorough understanding of compliance regulations
