Key Responsibilities

As a Truck Tyre Fitter, your primary duties will include:

Tyre Installation and Replacement

  • Remove and install truck tyres, including OTR and earthmoving tyres, using appropriate tools and equipment'
  • Ensure correct tyre selection and fitment according to vehicle specifications and customer requirements.

Tyre Repair and Maintenance

  • Inspect tyres for defects, wear, and damage.
  • Perform puncture repairs, retreading, and balancing.
  • Rotate tyres to ensure even wear and extend tyre life

Safety Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments before commencing work.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Customer Service

  • Interact professionally with B2B clients to understand their tyre needs.
  • Provide expert advice on tyre care and maintenance.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.

Fleet Management Support

  • Assist in managing client tyre inventories.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed.
  • Collaborate with clients to schedule regular maintenance.

Equipment Handling and Maintenance

  • Operate tyre fitting machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Team Collaboration

  • Work cohesively with team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including job cards and service reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in truck tyre fitting, specifically with heavy vehicles such as trucks, road trains, OTR vehicles, earthmovers, and cranes.
  • Proven experience working in a B2B environment, servicing commercial clients
  • Proficient in using tyre fitting tools and machinery.
  • Knowledge of various tyre brands, tread patterns, and specifications.
  • Ability to diagnose tyre-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Valid manual driver's licence (essential).
  • Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology or equivalent (highly desirable).
  • Forklift licence and White Card (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.

Working Hours: Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7am am to 5:00 pm. Availability for occasional weekend work and emergency call-outs may be required.

Location: This position is based in Jandakot, Perth, but may require travel to client sites within the region.
