About the Company
Kreskas Brothers Transport is a well-established transport and logistics business with a strong fleet operation servicing Victoria and beyond. They are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to take ownership of their heavy vehicle maintenance operation in Shepparton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who understands heavy vehicle maintenance, workshop planning, diagnostics and fleet reliability.
About the Role:
As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, servicing and repair of the company's heavy vehicle fleet.
The fleet includes Mercedes-Benz, Kenworth and Volvo trucks, so strong experience with modern heavy vehicle systems, diagnostics and preventative maintenance is essential.
You will lead the workshop team, coordinate repair priorities, manage maintenance schedules and ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of the workshop and maintenance team
Coordinate scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repair work across the fleet
Prioritise breakdowns and urgent repairs to minimise vehicle downtime
Oversee diagnostics, fault finding and complex mechanical repairs
Support repairs and maintenance across Mercedes-Benz, Kenworth and Volvo trucks
Monitor fleet compliance, safety standards and maintenance documentation
Plan workshop workload, allocate jobs and ensure deadlines are met
Manage parts requirements, stock levels and supplier relationships
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
Support and mentor workshop staff where required
Communicate with operations to ensure fleet availability meets business needs
Assist with continuous improvement of workshop systems, maintenance planning and fleet reliability
Skills and Experience Required:
Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification or relevant trade qualification
Previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Leading Hand or Senior Heavy Vehicle Mechanic role
Strong experience working with heavy vehicle fleets
Experience with Mercedes-Benz, Kenworth and Volvo trucks highly regarded
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
Experience with hydraulic systems
Good understanding of preventative maintenance and fleet maintenance planning
Ability to manage workshop priorities in a fast-paced transport environment
Strong communication and leadership skills
Safety-focused with a solid understanding of workshop compliance requirements
Ability to work independently and take ownership of workshop performance
