About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Agronomy Manager to lead and consolidate agronomy project management activities. This role involves promoting and implementing best practices in precision agriculture, supporting agronomists, and coordinating deliverables. The Agronomy Manager will also engage in the development and validation of decision-making models, supervise R&D work, and contribute to international agroeconomic studies.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Development of Decision-Making Models:
- Oversee technical and technological monitoring for natural resource management.
- Supervise soil and water sampling and analysis.
- Provide technical management advice on fertilization, irrigation, and phytosanitary management.
- Analyze and interpret recommendation reports for clients.
- Participate in designing and maintaining data models and decision-making tools.
- Contribute to the field validation of decision-making models.
- Conduct international-scale agroeconomic studies.
- Supervise R&D within the network of experimental farms.
- Report agricultural community needs for UX/UI design of interfaces.
Data Integration, Analysis, and Business Development:
- Interpret soil and leaf analyses to develop fertilization programs.
- Ensure quality control of collected agronomic data.
- Build databases to enhance service offerings around sustainable agriculture.
- Develop and enhance service offerings related to sustainable agriculture.
Capability Building:
- Develop colleagues' skills and expertise through knowledge transfer.
- Conduct training and outreach campaigns for partners and clients.
- Advise on technical-agronomic aspects for communication plans.
- Contribute to agronomic communications such as newsletters and reports.
- Disseminate knowledge to relevant economic actors.
Required Profile:
Technical/Professional Skills:
- Agronomist engineer or master's degree in agribusiness or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of project management experience in agribusiness, with precision agriculture experience being a competitive advantage.
- Knowledge of the precision agriculture market and statistical analysis.
- Basic knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing.
- Proficiency in acquiring, integrating, and disseminating geographic data.
- Mastery of thematic mapping and related tools.
- Analytical, synthesis, and presentation skills.
- Excellent writing and oral expression skills.
