Position Summary
The Bartender delivers a refined, personalized, genuine, and consistent beverage experience in all assigned bar and lounge venues
onboard. Responsible for flawless execution of cocktail, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverage service, the Bartender ensures
every drink reflects Silversea F&B Core Service Standards and Silversea Way service principles.
The Bartender prepares beverages to precise specifications, maintains venue readiness, supports beverage revenue through
confident guest engagement and recommendations, and contributes directly to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Bar Supervisor / Mixologist / Beverage Operations Manager / Head Bartender
Subordinates: Bar Servers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Prepares and serves cocktails, spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages following approved Silversea recipes and
presentation standards.
Provides warm, personalized, anticipatory service, engaging guests by name and noting their preferences.
Demonstrates full adherence to Silversea Core Service Standards and the Silversea Way.
Confidently recommends cocktails, premium spirits, wines, and cigars to support revenue and enhance the guest
experience.
Ensures assigned bar areas always reflect luxury presentation, including ambience, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
Contributes directly to Beverage & Lounge Service targets, ratings, and revenue performance through consistent service
and upselling.
Operational Duties
Performs opening, mise-en-place, service, and closing procedures for the assigned venue.
Ensures all fridges, freezers, displays, ice bins, tools, and bar equipment are fully stocked and operational.
Prepares garnishes, syrups, ingredients, and bar components following recipe guidelines and sanitation standards.
Supports bar setup for receptions, cocktail parties, afternoon tea, tastings, and shipwide events.
Accurately completes requisitions, rotations, stock transfers, and breakage reports.
Maintains product integrity, minimizes waste, and ensures adherence to portion control and cost discipline.
Performs additional duties assigned by supervisors to support operational needs.
Recipe, Consistency & Quality Control
Follows all approved classic, signature, seasonal, and venue-specific cocktail recipes without deviation.
Ensures accuracy in flavor balance, dilution, ice selection, temperature, glassware, and garnish.
Participates in beverage briefings, menu rollouts, and tasting sessions led by the Mixologist or BOM.
Maintains strong product knowledge including wines, spirits, cocktails, No/Lo beverages, coffee service, and cigars.
Reports inconsistencies, quality concerns, or product shortages to the Mixologist or Bar Supervisor.
Public Health, Sanitation & Compliance
Fully complies with Public Health, HACCP, and sanitation protocols in all beverage areas.
Ensures all tools, equipment, and preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized according to standards.
Accurately completes required temperature logs for refrigeration, ice wells, and dishwashers.
Ensures correct waste management, chemical usage, and bar cleanliness.
Maintains inspection readiness at all times.
Team Collaboration & Training
Works collaboratively with the Mixologist, Bar Supervisor, and BOM to ensure beverage consistency.
Supports new team members by sharing knowledge, demonstrating correct techniques, and promoting service culture.
Participates in all scheduled training sessions, including beverage knowledge, service standards, and PH compliance.
Communicates effectively with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth service flow and teamwork.
Safety Duties:
Participates in crew and guest safety drills according to instructions
Always complies with the Company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
Participates in all mandatory training
Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others
Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.
Delivering training, guidance and supervision on how to use and maintain them
Qualifications
Valid STCW95 certification.
Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in a 5-star hotel, luxury bar, or cruise environment.
Strong knowledge of mixology, classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Familiarity with Public Health compliance and inventory control.
Physically and medically fit.

Language requirements:
Excellent fluent English (verbal and written) is mandatory. English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This
also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with
guests and crew members. Any other language is a plus.
Computer knowledge:
1. Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is required
2. Previous experience with Fidelio is desirable
3. Efficient at all computer based tasks
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the
essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. The environment includes multiple venues, office
locations, and/or moving inside/outside these. A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard, shipyard, dry dock, or offsite
locations. Personal protective equipment will be provided as needed in these situations.
This role involves standing, walking long distances, reaching, sitting, the repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs and
lifting or pushing up to 50lbs. The position requires irregular schedules.
