Job Description:

Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize, and implement daily activities and events for guests of all ages, including games, contests, and performances

- Host and facilitate various onboard events and activities, such as trivia nights, karaoke, dance classes, and theme nights

- Engage and interact with guests to ensure a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone on board

- Collaborate with other crew members and departments to coordinate and promote activities and events

- Maintain a safe and clean environment during all activities and events

- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures as required

- Assist with set-up, breakdown, and storage of equipment and supplies for activities and events

- Provide excellent customer service and address any guest concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner

- Stay up-to-date with current entertainment and pop culture trends to ensure a relevant and engaging program for guests

- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times

Requirements:

- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in the cruise industry

- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality, recreation, or related field is a plus

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Energetic and outgoing personality with a passion for entertaining and engaging guests

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Basic knowledge of sound and lighting equipment is preferred

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary certifications (e.g. STCW, Crowd Management, etc.)

- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus

Working Conditions:

The Cruise Staff Animator will be living and working on board a cruise ship for the duration of the contract. They will be required to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role may also involve physical activities, such as setting up equipment and participating in sports and games. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to a multicultural and diverse environment and be comfortable working in a team setting.
