Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the laundry department, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards onboard the cruise ship
- Train and supervise a team of laundry staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they are performing their duties effectively
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are available for the smooth running of the laundry department
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all laundry items meet company standards
- Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and productivity within the laundry department
- Manage and maintain laundry equipment, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department
- Create and maintain schedules for laundry staff, ensuring adequate coverage at all times
- Handle guest laundry requests and ensure timely delivery of all items
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and timely delivery of laundry services
- Keep accurate records of all laundry activities, including inventory, expenses, and guest requests
- Train and educate staff on proper laundry techniques and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in housekeeping or hospitality management is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel setting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of laundry equipment and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed
- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
