Job Description:

Commis Baker - Cruise Ship

- Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of baked goods, such as bread, pastries, and desserts

- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes

- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers

- Decorate and package finished products for display and sale

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients and products

- Follow all safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling and storage procedures

- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth and efficient baking process

- Continuously strive to improve baking techniques and recipes to meet guest expectations and preferences

- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience in a bakery or similar food production environment preferred

- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment

- Ability to follow recipes and measurements accurately

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary certifications for working at sea
