Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair all electrical systems and equipment onboard the vessel, including generators, motors, lighting, and control systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and perform necessary repairs
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly and in compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed and report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment
- Train and supervise junior electrician and other crew members on proper electrical procedures and safety protocols
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your fellow crew members
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical systems and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an electrician in a marine or industrial setting
- Knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment, including generators, motors, and control systems
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work long hours and in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid electrician's license or certification
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
