Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures for crew members on board the cruise ship
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
- Provide training and education to crew members on topics such as hygiene, disease prevention, and emergency response
- Monitor and assess the health status of crew members and provide appropriate medical care as needed
- Collaborate with shipboard medical staff to ensure proper medical protocols and supplies are in place
- Develop and maintain relationships with local health authorities and medical facilities in ports of call
- Investigate and report any incidents or outbreaks of illness on board and implement measures to prevent further spread
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all crew members
- Stay current on industry regulations and best practices related to public health and safety on board vessels
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public health or occupational health role, preferably in a maritime setting
- Knowledge of international health regulations and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and spend extended periods of time at sea
