Job Summary: Receptionist (Cruise Ship)
1. Responsibilities
-
Provide the highest level of service to all passengers at the reception desk.

Adhere to company regulations, SOPs, and ISM, especially where relevant to ship operations.

Consistently act in the best interest of the Owner and Supplier.
-
Perform additional duties as required, in line with operational needs.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
-
Respond to general front desk enquiries.
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for passenger service issues.
-
Handle guest check-in procedures.
-
Conduct foreign currency exchange.
-
Provide ship layout information and directional assistance.
-
Offer general information on cabins, amenities, ship facilities, and activities.
-
Operate internal and external switchboards.
-
Liaise with other departments regarding special requests.
-
Assist with passenger account queries.
-
Use the Property Management System effectively.
-
Manage a substantial cash float and handle travellers cheques.
-
Log all technical faults reported by passengers and staff.
-
Maintain voyage notes detailing all passenger queries.
-
Assist during immigration inspections.
-
Manage lost and found items.
-
Write reports on comments and complaints, and follow up as needed.
-
Keep updated information for ports of call and contribute to port highlight materials.

Handle fax messages and ensure delivery.
-
Sell stamps and manage the delivery of mail through the Port Agent.
3. Job Requirements

Good command of the English language.

Patient, tactful, friendly, and helpful at all times.

Outgoing, courteous, and a strong team player.
-
Ability to work well under pressure with a high level of integrity.
-
Proficiency in at least one or two additional languages is preferred.
4. Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of two years of experience in a service-oriented environment.
-
Experience working with an international clientele is preferred.
