Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications and guest dietary restrictions
- Assist with menu planning and recipe development
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage and labeling of food items
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely meal service
- Follow instructions from Head Chef and other senior kitchen staff
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments on board
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook in a professional kitchen, preferably in a high-volume setting
- Strong understanding of various cooking techniques and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications for working on a cruise ship
