Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and lead a team of carpenters, providing guidance and support as needed

- Plan and coordinate carpentry projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements

- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using rulers, pencils, chalk, and marking gauges

- Cut, shape, and join materials using hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and sanders

- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim

- Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed by the team

- Train and mentor new carpenters on the team

- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations

- Communicate with project managers and other team members to provide updates on project progress


Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

- Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces

- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects

- Knowledge of maritime safety regulations is an asset
