Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a variety of pastries and desserts, including cakes, tarts, pastries, and other sweet treats, according to established recipes and standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop new menu items and specials
- Ensure that all pastries are prepared and presented to the highest quality and visual standards
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Train and supervise junior pastry team members, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and hygiene
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation and plating
- Travel to different cruise ship locations as required, maintaining high standards of quality and service at all times
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel and work on different cruise ships for extended periods of time
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
