Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and assist them with selecting wines to complement their meals onboard the cruise ship
- Provide recommendations and suggestions on wine pairings based on guest preferences and menu offerings
- Ensure that all wine orders are accurately taken and delivered in a timely manner
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of our wine list and be able to answer any questions or concerns from guests
- Work closely with the sommelier to ensure proper wine inventory levels and assist with restocking as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized wine cellar and bar area
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure guest satisfaction at all times
- Participate in wine training and educational sessions to continuously improve knowledge and skills
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including responsible alcohol service guidelines
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wine Waiter in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel
- Extensive knowledge of different types of wines, regions, and vintages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid alcohol service certification
- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
