Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and execute a variety of desserts and pastries for our guests, including cakes, tarts, and other specialty items On Board Cruise Ship
- Supervise and train junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Monitor inventory and ensure proper ordering and storage of ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry section, following all safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items and concepts
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the dining room and events team, to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food safety and hygiene standards
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the pastry offerings onboard
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie Pastry in a high-volume, fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent training and experience
- Knowledge of a variety of pastry techniques and styles, including French pastry
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the cruise schedule
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications for working onboard a cruise ship
