Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and reupholster furniture and other items on board the cruise ships
- Inspect and identify any damages or wear and tear on furniture and other items
- Measure and cut fabric to fit furniture and other items
- Sew and attach fabric to furniture and other items using various techniques and tools
- Replace worn out padding and foam on furniture and other items
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in a timely manner
- Maintain inventory of fabrics, tools, and supplies
- Work closely with other crew members and departments to coordinate repairs and maintenance
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations at all times
- Keep work area clean and organized
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Upholsterer, preferably in a marine or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of upholstery techniques and materials
- Ability to work with various fabrics and materials, including leather and vinyl
- Proficient in using hand and power tools
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work at sea for extended periods of time
