Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate all stage equipment, including lighting, sound, and special effects, for performances and events onboard the cruise ship
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of stage equipment and systems
- Work closely with the Entertainment team to ensure all technical elements of the show are executed flawlessly
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during performances or events
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Assist with load-ins, load-outs, and stage changes as needed
- Participate in rehearsals and technical runs to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and all cues are executed accurately
- Collaborate with other departments, including Audio, Lighting, and Video, to ensure a seamless production
- Keep inventory of all stage equipment and supplies, and report any shortages or damages to the Stage Manager
- Train and supervise any additional stage crew members as needed
- Attend all mandatory safety and technical training sessions
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical theater degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a theatrical or cruise ship environment
- Extensive knowledge of stage equipment and systems, including lighting, sound, and special effects
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficient in operating and programming lighting and sound consoles
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Willingness to work long hours and irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and work at heights
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required; additional languages are a plus
