Job Description:
Position: Demi Chef De Partie
Position Overview:
As a Demi Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef De Partie in the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for our guests. You will work closely with the rest of the culinary team to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position, with the potential for extension based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef De Partie in all aspects of meal preparation, including chopping, cooking, and plating
- Follow recipes and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
- Communicate effectively with the rest of the culinary team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies
- Train and mentor junior members of the culinary team
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Assist in creating new menu items and daily specials
- Participate in onboard events and special dining experiences
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Demi Chef De Partie or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Creativity and passion for cooking
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous experience working on a cruise ship is an asset
