Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations of seafarers onboard the cruise ship
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed
- Perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing and wound care
- Provide health education and counseling to seafarers on topics such as disease prevention, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Participate in on-board emergency response drills and provide immediate medical care in case of emergencies
- Conduct health and safety training for crew members as needed
- Communicate effectively with ship's officers and crew members to ensure a safe and healthy working environment
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current state nursing license and certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting
- Experience in emergency or critical care is preferred
- Familiarity with maritime health and safety regulations is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work on board ships for extended periods of time
- Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas for international travel
