Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Master in all aspects of navigational and bridge operations

- Supervise the work of junior officers and deck crew

- Maintain the vessel's navigational equipment and ensure it is in good working condition

- Plan and execute safe navigation routes

- Monitor weather and sea conditions and make necessary adjustments to the vessel's course

- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all crew members are familiar with emergency procedures

- Maintain accurate records of all navigational activities

- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and company policies

- Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel, including painting and cleaning duties

- Assist with mooring and anchoring operations

- Keep up-to-date with all relevant maritime laws and regulations

- Act as a liaison between the vessel and port authorities, as well as other vessels in the vicinity

- Provide support to the Master and other senior officers as needed

- Act as a watchkeeper on the bridge, maintaining a vigilant lookout at all times

- Train and mentor junior officers and deck crew.

Requirements:

- Valid Second Officer license

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Officer on a similar vessel

- Excellent navigational and ship-handling skills

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of international maritime laws and regulations

- Familiarity with all relevant safety procedures and emergency protocols

- Ability to work well in a team and independently

- Physically fit and able to perform duties in all weather conditions

- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
