Job Description:
As a Commis Chef onboard a cruise ship, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, assisting in delivering high-quality dining experiences for our guests. This entry-level position is designed for aspiring chefs who are passionate about the culinary arts and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will support senior chefs in food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and adhere to all safety and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to menu specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies
- Work collaboratively with other members of the culinary team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications
