Position : Butler
Responsibilities:
- Personalized Service: Provide personalized and anticipatory service to assigned guests, attending to their preferences, needs, and requests throughout their cruise experience.
- Guest Assistance: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their cabins, and assist with luggage handling and unpacking if required. Offer information and guidance on ship amenities, activities, and dining options.
- Dining Coordination: Arrange and coordinate dining reservations and special requests for guests, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Communicate with the dining team to accommodate dietary preferences and provide a high level of service during meals.
- In-Cabin Services: Maintain guest cabins to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. Offer turndown service, refreshments, and amenities replenishment as per guest preferences and schedule.
- Butler Services: Fulfill various guest requests, such as arranging in-room dining, providing garment pressing and shoe shining services, organizing celebrations, and coordinating special occasions.
- Personal Shopping: Offer assistance with onboard shopping, including escorting guests to boutique areas, providing product information, and arranging for purchases to be delivered to their cabins.
- Entertainment and Excursions: Assist guests with entertainment options and onboard activities, including organizing and coordinating reservations for shows, excursions, spa appointments, and other recreational activities.
- Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with guests, colleagues, and various ship departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and timely resolution of guest inquiries or concerns.
- Special Services: Provide additional services as required, such as packing and unpacking luggage, organizing private parties or gatherings, and arranging for special amenities or surprises.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: Maintain the utmost discretion and respect guests' privacy, ensuring the confidentiality of personal information and any sensitive matters.
Qualifications:
- Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and polished demeanor. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests professionally and courteously.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to anticipate guest needs, ensure accuracy in service delivery, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Discretion and Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling guest interactions and personal information.
- Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are advantageous, especially those commonly spoken by cruise ship guests.
- Cultural Awareness: Cultural sensitivity and awareness to cater to a diverse international clientele, understanding their preferences, customs, and dietary requirements.
- Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver services in a timely manner.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the cruise ship's schedule and guest demands.
- Previous Experience: Prior experience as a butler or in a similar personalized service role in a luxury hotel, resort, or cruise ship setting is preferred.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to think quickly, adapt to changing circumstances, and provide solutions to meet guest needs and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise.
- Age Requirements: Must meet the minimum age requirements set by the cruise line for employment.
