Job Summary
The German Speaking Buffet Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily buffet operations onboard and ensuring high service standards, guest satisfaction, and efficient team performance. The role focuses on delivering excellent service to international guests, with particular attention to German-speaking passengers, while maintaining company standards for food presentation, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate buffet service during all meal periods

Ensure buffet stations are properly set up, fully stocked, and attractively presented

Provide professional guest service and assist German-speaking guests with requests and inquiries

Lead, train, and monitor buffet staff performance

Maintain company service standards and ensure smooth daily operations

Monitor food quality, portion control, and minimize waste

Ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and safety regulations (HACCP standards)

Coordinate with Galley and Food & Beverage teams to ensure efficient service flow

Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues professionally

Conduct daily briefings and assign team duties
Requirements

Fluency in German and English (spoken and written)

Minimum 2–3 years experience in Food & Beverage service

Previous supervisory experience in buffet, restaurant, hotel, or cruise environment preferred

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Excellent customer service and communication abilities

Knowledge of international hygiene and sanitation standards

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

Flexible and able to work long hours onboard
Preferred Qualifications

Previous cruise ship experience

Hospitality or Culinary qualification
