Our client a well established high profile multinational company with offices throughout the Middle East and currently seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Ports

Principal Objective of the role:
- To interface operationally at a managerial and manage the contract between The Royal Commission Port Authority and the Port Operator responsible for the operations, maritime division, quality, Health & Safety, Environment, reporting services and IMO standers.
- To assure the contract terms are fully respects and followed to the detail on daily basis.
Key Activities:
- Act as Deputy COO and assist the COO in all tasks, and act as COO during his absence.
• Daily Interface with the Port Operators senior managers
• Responsible for Planning, maintaining and ensuring targets/budget are met for all costs at an analytical level.
• Monitor Marine Division, Stevedoring and Equipment handling, Bonded area flux and compliance on behalf of the Port Authority as the Contract Manager.
• Monitor Port Operator on behalf the Port Authority for training, developing, and promoting employees.
• Safety Incident Rate of direct reports from all divisions managed by the Port Operator.
• All divisions reporting directly to the Port Authority.
• Overall Operating, Maintenance & Repair Cost of Equipment data collected from respective dedicated entities.
• On-time completion of all Port works and expansions with contractors.
• Port Operator contract management on behalf of the Port Authority.
• Perform Audits on behalf of the Port Authority under the guidelines of IMO’S STCW, Marpol, SOLAS, ISO, IMO, ISM, ISPS, etc.
on the Port Operator to ensure compliance and to deliver respective reports.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Port Management, Marine & Port Engineering or Maritime Academy.
2. Minimal ten 15 years’ experience in Port and Maritime industry.
3. Must be highly fluent in English.
4. Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
