Crawler Crane Operators - South Africa

Our Client, a world leading Heavy Engineering & Transport Organiastion are seeking a number of Lattice Boom Crawler Crane Operators for medium long term role in Mozambique,  with availability to travel within Africa and abroad. 

Job Duties and Requirements:

Safely and independently executing lifting activities and (dis)assembling of a lattice boom crane in different configurations.

Checking of all associated and necessary documentation (e.g. planning instruction, certificates, lifting plans, load charts,…) before starting the work, and ensuring that these are all present, understood and that one is able to apply these.

Study beforehand transport route and site, whether it is free from obstacles and accessible.

Check beforehand local weather conditions

Loading and unloading of all crane parts.

Assembling, configuring and dismantling of the LBC.

Independently operating and controlling the LBC, in any configuration in its’ class as per manufacturing instructions

Operating auxiliary equipment (e.g. tele-handler, etc.).

Keeping the equipment clean, neat and in good operational condition at all times including refueling as required.

Checking and inspecting of the crane and equipment on damage before, during and after operations.

Performing of daily, first line and preventive maintenance.

Reporting on damage and irregularities.

Correctly and timely fill in and hand in Maintenance Checklists and Work Record Sheets, the latter after having these signed by the client if required.

Providing feedback to line or functional Manager on the work and possible extra work.

Carrying out all tasks and trainings in compliance with Fagioli’s standards, company and client policies and –instructions.

Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.

The employee must be able to use metric rule to measure.

Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions.

Demonstrate ability to plan and schedule work sequences.

Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Instructing - Teaching others how to do something.

Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

 

Experience:

Crane operator : Crawler Crane Operator minimum 5 years (Required)

Experience with 600t capacity (or higher) LBC (Required)

Experience with TEREX CC2800 and/or LIEBHERR LR1600 or equivalent  in all configurations (Preferred).

 

The employee must have the ability to read safety requirements, instructions in the correct use and maintenance of shop tools, be able to read and understand methods and procedures that are present on drawings, layout work, and just specifications.

Must have the ability to write simple reports with the correct format using spelling and grammar. (English + Portuguese and/or Spanish)

SHEQ & Compliance

Responsible for motivating & ensuring everyone works safely and according to the Fagioli’s SHEQ standards, as stated in document of SHEQ department – Responsibilities Manager with Regard to Safety, Quality & Environment, to ensure that all work is done in a safe, efficient, and qualitative way.

Complies with the attitude of Lean and continuous improvements in the organization.

Visits various sites/locations and fill in a WPI on regular basis.

Responsible for ensuring that all activities and processes are executed in compliance with Fagioli’s SHEQ standards, policies, instructions, and local legislation.

Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics. Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics

 

Education:

Higher Secondary technical school (12th Pass) (Preferred)

Language:

Fluent English written and spoken (Preferred)

Fluent Portuguese and/or Spanish (Required)

SOUTH AFRICA – MOZAMBIQUE
