APS Modeler and Optimization Engineer

 Job Description:

This engaging position involves working with various areas of the organization to boost performance and ensure the refinery operates in line with the monthly operating plan. The role assists refinery management in making data-driven decisions for production, capital projects, and operational improvements. Moreover, the specialist educates and supports team members in refining market analysis and effectively using the Aspen Petroleum Scheduler software.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and model refinery operations focusing on ways to improve yield, and production margins, and minimize production and energy costs.
  • Work on the Aspen Petroleum Scheduler software to keep it updated and ensure precise, efficient refinery scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Work with operations, process engineering, and commercial teams to create short-term production plans based on market trends, operational limits, and inventory position.
  • Create and share detailed reports and suggestions with senior management about refinery performance, market outlook, and strategic plans.
  • Work with IT and software vendors to fix any issues with the Aspen Petroleum Scheduler software.
  • Review past refinery operations and use the data to enhance APS models.
  • Follow industry rules, company policies, and safety and environmental standards.
  • Participate in the refinery on-call duty rotation schedule for E&P for off-hours support. During periods of abnormal operation specifically related to gasoline blending, occasional after-hours consultation with the Operations Shift Teams is expected.
  • Candidate must have an active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 10 years of refining experience.
  • 15 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Expertise in managing and maintaining Aspen Petroleum Scheduler software or similar refinery scheduling software.
  • Experience in different parts of refinery operation.

 Salary Package:

$ 116,000.00 - 195,000.00 (US Dollar)
