Defects Estimator | Fire Protection

Ready to take the next step in your Fire career and build on your technical experience?

You will estimate Fire defect rectification, upgrades and larger works across a broad range of Fire systems.

Whether your background is Dry Fire, Wet Fire or both, you do not need experience across every Fire discipline to be considered.

Experienced Fire Estimators and Defects Estimators are encouraged to apply, along with experienced Fire Technicians, Supervisors and Service professionals with strong scoping and quoting capability who are ready to progress into Estimating.

The Opportunity

• Estimate a varied portfolio, from individual service and compliance related defects through to substantial Fire rectification and upgrade works.
• Take ownership of estimates from initial review and scoping through to preparation and submission of quotations.
• Develop your estimating and commercial capability across a broad range of Fire systems.
• Work alongside an experienced Fire team with strong technical and operational capability around you.
• Receive a competitive base salary, OTE bonus and your choice of a company vehicle or $20,000 annual car allowance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review Fire inspection, testing and service reports and assess identified defects.
• Attend sites where required to assess defects and determine rectification requirements.
• Develop accurate scopes of work for Fire defect rectification, upgrades and larger works.
• Prepare estimates and quotations incorporating labour, materials, equipment and other requirements.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing where required.
• Review relevant drawings, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
• Liaise with clients, technicians and operational teams to clarify scopes and technical requirements.
• Manage multiple estimates and quotations across varying values and priorities.
• Ensure proposed works meet relevant Australian Standards and compliance requirements.
• Support the handover of successful quotations to the operational team for delivery.

About You

You will ideally possess:

• Experience across Fire estimating, quoting, service, defects and/or rectification works.
• Good technical knowledge across relevant Fire disciplines.
• The ability to interpret inspection and service reports and understand identified defects and rectification requirements.
• Experience scoping rectification requirements and determining the labour, materials and resources required.
• The ability to read and interpret relevant drawings and technical documentation.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of estimating, costs and margins.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities.
• Current WA driver's licence and full Australian working rights.
