About the job Fire System Draftsperson

Fire Systems Draftsperson

About the Role

We are looking for a Fire Systems Draftsperson who produces the drawings and models needed to design, quote, install and hand over fire protection systems. The role turns the Design/Drafting Lead's designs, site surveys and mark-ups into accurate, standards-compliant shop drawings, Revit models, block plans and as-built drawings for sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire detection and alarm, EWIS, gaseous suppression and bushfire sprinkler systems.

The Fire Systems Draftsperson reports to the Design/Drafting Lead and works closely with the Major Project Manager, the Minor Works Project Manager, the Service Manager and the Defects Estimator. All drawings, models and hydraulic calculations are checked and approved by the Design/Drafting Lead before they are issued for construction or submitted to a certifier, fire brigade or client.

We have partnered with an Australian fire protection operating across the Northern Territory, South Australia and far north Western Australia. They service government, health, education, aged care, commercial and remote and resources clients, delivering fire detection and alarm, sprinkler, suppression, hydrant and portable equipment services, alongside inspection, testing, maintenance and defect rectification.

  • Check drawings against the specification and the architectural, structural and services backgrounds, and raise any conflicts or gaps with the Design/Drafting Lead.
BIM Modeling

  • Prepare equipment schedules and material lists from the drawings.
  • Prepare preliminary layouts and concept drawings for tenders and proposals.
